A company which manufactures devices that track medical specimens will move its headquarters to the Valley, and Chandler is one of the cities being considered. IDM Technologies Group will move from the Seattle area in the first quarter of 2012 and is now scouting the Valley for corporate offices and a distribution facility. Chandler and Scottsdale locations are being evaluated now. The company says it expects to employ 45 people in the Valley by the end of 2014.

IDM was founded in 2007. Its flagship product is LabTrack, which uses radio-frequency identification technology to track lab specimens, blood and tissue samples through every point in the diagnostic lab process. The privately-held company manufactures the product in the U.S. and will distribute the devices from the Valley. It expects to begin a national launch of LabTrack in early 2012.
